Log grown shiitake
mushrooms are a favorite here at the farm. Our CSA
members get to try them as part of spring and fall
baskets. We also sell fresh mushrooms to restaurants
and individual buyers.
Periodically, Farmer Johnny offers shiitake mushroom
growing classes. Participants learn to innoculate logs, are
given a log care guide, and take home the log they
innoculate. The classes are also a fun way to see the farm,
and share the fun with fellow mushroom enthusiasts!
